The benefits of lighting.

Smart lighting can turn an ordinary room into an extraordinary space, lighting welcomes you home and keeps intruders away. Smart lighting solutions are essential to physical and emotion wellness; Light sensors can be used to detect natural ambient lighting and the room lighting can automatically adjusts to achieve the right brightness. It sets the mood for entertaining; for snuggling together on movie night or for a professional conference call.

What is lighting control?

lighting control system is an intelligent network based control solution that incorporates the communication between various lighting control devices. These devices often include occupancy sensors and control keypads, signals from other building systems such as alarms and HVAC can be incorporated to increase the functionality of the system.

Lighting control systems are commonly used internally and externally for commercial, industrial, and residential spaces and serve to provide a flexible and convenient way of controlling a lighting system.

What are the benefits of a lighting system?

The major advantage of a lighting control system over conventional manual switching is the ability to control individual lights or groups of lights from a single user interface device. This ability to control multiple light sources from a user device allows complex lighting scenes to be created. A room may have multiple scenes pre-set, each one created for different activities in the room.

With a lighting control system, lights automatically turn on when you walk into a room and turn off shortly after you leave. At the end of the day, tap “Goodnight” from your bed to turn off all the lights and close all the shades. Hallway lights automatically illuminate the way for a drink of water or bathroom break in the middle of the night. You’re in control from anywhere all the time.

Indoor and outdoor lights turn on, off, or adjust automatically based on a time schedule or sunrise/sunset. Sensors detect natural ambient lighting and room lighting automatically adjusts to achieve just the right brightness. Circadian rhythm lighting and dawn/dusk simulation improves sleep, energy, and mood.

Are lighting systems energy efficient?

A major benefit of lighting control systems is to save energy and money by automatically turning lights off when they’re not needed, by reducing light levels when full brightness isn’t necessary, or otherwise controlling the lighting in and around the building.

Longer lamp life is also gained when dimming and switching off lights when not in use. Wireless lighting control systems provide additional benefits including reduced installation costs and increased flexibility over where switches and sensors may be placed.
